Always on my Toes

My baby boy is always keeping me on my toes...now that he can walk- he is everywhere...Why is it that where ever I take him he finds the one thing that I don't want him to get into? Take him to the park- grass everywhere....he goes straight for the jagged rock wall....take him to the sandy beach and he goes straight for the sharp coral sticking out of the sand several feet away...keep him at home- and he could care less about his toys (if I am not playing with them too)- he wants cords, important papers, the toilet, the bathtub, the fan, the cabinets...I tell you...he is always getting into things, and keeping mommy very busy...but I am very thankful that he is curious and excited about our world....here are a few examples of what I am talking about....

So...Daniel is now tall enough to reach the handle on the screen door...and he knows that if he pulls it- he can get out...which wouldn't be too bad, but we have about 6 steep steps right outside of our doorway, and while Daniel has learned to go up stairs- he hasn't quite mastered the down part yet....luckily we discovered that the screen door can lock...mommies saving grace....

Here is one time when I forgot to lock the door- and there was no hesitating- right for the stairs because he knows that he can go play in the rocks and dirt if he makes it down the stairs.....

Ginger appreciates Daniels new ability because it gives her a chance to slip out the door and go chase lizards....Daniel likes to follow close behind...

Daniel has moved on from the trashcan- to yes- the toilet....Don't get me wrong- I try to keep him out of the bathroom by shutting the door and I close the toilet lid as much as possible, but since being pregnant I have no memory- so often the way that I find out Daniel is in the bathroom is that I hear a "splash" of the toilet....This is by far the biggest object he managed to get into the toilet- but he was very proud of himself- and a bit upset that I took the ball out! I love how he makes each day exciting!

I love it!!! I am glad he keeps his mommie on her toes, that he loves the outdoors, that he enjoys the adventure and that he has fun with his dog. He would be the apple of his Papa's eye.
