Swimming Lessons

Daniel started swimming lessons yesterday at "Leahi Swim School". He will be going on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until August 15th. He had a lot of fun at his first class. There is only one other student in his class, but there are several other small classes in the pool. Daniel enjoyed being in the water, and seeing all of the other kids swimming in the pool. He is so cute when he is around other kids- he gets so talkative! It's hard to do much when the kids are Daniel's age, but they focus on getting them comfortable with the water. I think Daniel is pretty comfortable with the water already, but he has fun anyways. Also it's good to have something that I have to take him to- otherwise I am likely to get lazy and just let him play in the rocks outside (which he loves), but it's good to get out! Here are some pictures...not the greatest because I was in the pool with him- so I obviously couldn't take any while he was in the pool, and after we were done it was hard to keep the slippery, wet boy still....but it gives you an idea of where its at....

Getting ready- need to be safe and put sunscreen on in the hot Hawaiian sun! Turned out we were safe for no reason because it rained while we were swimming! But it was fine because the pool was heated- very heated- kind of felt like a big bathtub!

Here I am attempting to hold him in front of the pool. The pool is only 4 feet deep- fine for Daniel, but I had a hard time because I am so tall, and was trying to crunch down in it- while holding him- gave me a bit of a workout with this 25+ pounder!

Here's another attempt...The pool is in a beautiful location- way in the back of Manoa Valley. It is surrounded by green mountains and huge trees.

Here he is back in the car- dry and ready to drive home. I think this look is a combination of happiness, hunger and being super tired from the pool.

Here we are back at home..he didn't take a nap after swimming, but was in a grouchy mood because he was tired- so the lucky boy got to watch some videos for about 30 minutes while he recuperated. Overall I think that he enjoyed swimming....and we'll be back tomorrow!

OMG I just love that little guy! Swim lessons are great because they make them tired! I did Riley's around 6pm so she would go to bed early! I sure do wish she was still taking lessons:)
